Another early morning start to catch the Interislander to the South Island to Picton. It was about a 3hour trip in perfect conditions, clear blue skies and calm water but freezing conditions on the top deck but worth it for the views coming through the Queen Charlotte Sound into Picton. An early start saw is catch the first cable car to the top of the city with views out over the harbour. We then walked back down to the city through the botanical gardens and onto Westpac Stadium for the food & wine festival. We probably covered about 15kms on foot as we then walked back along the waterfront to the Te Papa museum. Great weather with clear blue skies and quite warm in the sun but get in the shade and a bit of a breeze and the chill kicks in....

A pretty uneventful flight saw us arriving in Wellington around 2.30pm local time. After settling into our hotel (The Ibis) we headed out for a walk down by the waterfront and around town to get our bearings. We had a quiet but nice dinner in the restaurant at the hotel and are having an early night after an early start to the day. The weather is cold but only wearing a jacket cold. Fingers crossed for a nice day tomorrow for us to explore the city some more.
