This is the itinerary for the trek to Everest Base Camp with a side trip to a small trekking peak (Mt Kala Pattar) which gives great views of Mt Everest.
I am trekking with a company called Trek and Tours (www.trekandtours.com). Going with my brother in law Tony Callander and in a group of 17 other clients plus Sherpa guides and porters.
It is rather a large group for this trek and they may well split us into two groups. For those that don't know Tony he is nearly two years older than me, and we anticipate we will be the two old farts bringing up the rear every day. But that is OK.
My last couple of weeks of training have been somewht curtailed as I have been suffering from a lingering cold but hopefully I have done enough. Managed another 10 laps of Jacobs Ladder in Perth on Monday last which is the base standard I was aiming at, so should be fine.
Apparently there is reasonable Internet Access in many of the lodges we stay at overnight so I will update this blog as time and opportunity permit.
