23 Oct 2007....
So back in NYC for a couple of days, this time stayed in Hi New York on 103rd street near Central park. Bit more of a chilled out day ater the hectic last few days. Walked around the shops on 5th Av and around midtown including Macy's - the biggest department store in the world. Then in the evening went around the hostel area wich Marc and a Brazllian we met called Pedro i think, but i may have just made that up!
The rest of the hostel was on a pub crawl and we decided we would meet up with them. After speaking to the guide at the hostel she pointed out which drinking establishments they were heading to. One such bar was called Suite, got in there ordered the drinks...sat down.....then relaised it was a gay bar...and it was karaoke night.....drink up lads we're going!!!!! They all had a laugh at that when we finally met up with the rest of the group!!

Last day in NY. Had problems with the hostel who claimed i hadn't paid for my bed which i had done. They demended i pay again.....no way. Had to speak to the manager etc had to check out the cctv etc. In the end i just walked out - pissed me off as i had done nothing wrong but they were accussing me - not the staff f*** up!
Anyway, we did the empire state building - makes your ears pop as you go up the 86 floors to the top! - amazin views check out the pics - not the greatest weather though.
Also went to liberty island to see the statue of liberty. That was quite good too. In the evening headed to the Port Authority Bus Termial to catch the bus to Boston - 4 hours. Got to south Station at about 1ish in the morning. They wanted to charge me $25 for a taxi to my hostel...thats almost as much as a bed for the night so not great. Ended up wondering around the station trying to think of another way to get there. Started chatting to this girl, Heather from Worcester MA who had also missed her bus or something. She ended up calling her friend to come and pick her up and she offered to drop me off near my hostel....sweet! .......45 MINS lATER......they had no idea where they were going. Really funny though and random for them and for me. Felt bad as they were trying to help me out and i bet all they wanted to do was go home, so i ended up paying them $20 anyway, still was more entertaing than a cab ride....finally got dropped of somewhere near my hostel but still had to walk about 10 to 15 mins to get there.
