Neil had set his alarm for 5am thinking he would pack up and come to the hospital at first light. However, with daylight savings this didn’t happen until 7am.
William had woken up much better and was even asking for breakfast and water. He still had a temp, but looked much better in himself, although we were both dead tired. The doctor came around just as Neil arrived and we were to he most likely had a virus and we were right to go.
So off we headed. We were to meet the others in Nyngan about an hour away. Firstly though we needed supplies. A battery for Steve, as Neil wasn’t roll starting it anymore, and a new jerry can as Neil had busted one the night before and a fuel filter to make the stops on the side of the road quicker and easier. We left Dubbo at about 11am and met the others in Nyngan just after 12. We then headed towards Cobar, although Steven and Tamara were too busy looking at Camels and starting heading towards Burke. We quickly turned around and tried again. Kelley took over driving at this stage, and typically the car gave us its cough and splutter and we were changing the fuel filter on the side of the highway once again. We pulled into Cobar at about 3.30pm and as it was such a hot day, we decided to camp here the night and try for Broken Hill first thing in the morning. We stuck William in the washing up tub with some cool water and he splashed around to cool off. We all managed to clean out our cars, tidy up a bit, do some washing and have an early tea. Surprisingly, nothing too eventful had happened today.
