So about time to fill you in again we think!
Since the last blog we have continued being Aussie residents in Cairns, working and partying.
We took a trip on the Kuranda Scenic railway which took us up into the mountains and past Barron Gorge which was a great sight although not as full of water as we had hoped! In January, when the wet season is here the waterfall is meant to be fantastic. We visited a sweet shop and watched sweets being made...and tried LOTS of freebies too, just to make sure they were ok :)
Then we went to the Koala Zoo and held Sienna the Koala who was beautiful aswell as hand feeding the Kangaroos and wallabys. To get back we took the Kuranda Sky rail, which took us back through the rainforest and over the Barron river. Pretty amazing.
The followong sunday we had great aspirations to visit the zoo.A group of us got up at 8am and walked to the bus stop. At 8:30 the heavens opened and Cairns became a river!! There was no point going to the zoo so we decided to head for breakfast (oh yes and a cheeky morning beer) With our aspirations dashed, we headed to liquor land and purchased (quite aa lot of) alcohol. Back at 80 Martyn St we had the bet pool party, getting drunk, wrestling in the mud and playing volleyball in the rain! All of us were in bed by 7:30pm!
11th Novemeber arrived and time to celebrate my 25th birthday which we did for 4 nights!! I also did a sky dive at 14, 000 ft as a present to myself for turning 25. Youwill all piss yourself when you see the dvd!! Very scary dont think i would do that again!!!
Lots of partying and treats for me, I was spoilt. Neil took me out for dinner at a posh place on the pier, amazing food although the very heavy rain continued.
We had a new housemate for 2 weeks, Faris from saudi Arabia...the craziest person in the world but we had a great time with him and were sad toseehim go. We also lost 2 other housemates, Ari and Raf :) but we have gained 2 more to corrupt now!
On Tuesday this week we hired a car and drove to Cairns Tropical Zoo. We have seen more animals on our travels than EVER before. We then drove to Kuranda to see the beautiful views again from way up in the mountains and then headed to Trinity Beach for a quick paddle in the sea. (no swimming due to Jelly fish season)
Other than that we havnt really been up to much hee hee hee!!! We hope to get to Cape Tribulation soon for 2 days and have other people leaving us so im sure there will be more partys!
