So I think you should bring back lots of silk! For reasons beyond my own understanding, I'm quite intrigued by the silk factory. I'm loving the updates. You make my life seem dreadfully boring, so I'm living vicariously through you.
Have fun, be safe!

Nicole - I'm enjoying your photos. Beautiful country. We think about you often. Looking forward to talking to you in person once you return, but I suspect you'll be in demand for awhile! SO proud of you . . . who ever would have thought!!! Much love, Rosie
Dad
Hi Nicole! You picked a good time to leave the country. GW is trying to bailout the economy by borrowing $700 billion from the Chinese, buying up assets of failing banks in over their heads on mortgage-leveraged securities that might soon become worthless (Wait...wasn't him who said 3-4 years ago that "the economy is fine, home ownership is at an all-time high"?? Oops, appears another cabinet member fell asleep at the wheel watching re-runs of Candi & Rummy sparring over Iraqi damage control spin). Polls say we don't approve, and now the Republicans are suddently waking up in opposition saying "Hey, aren't we supposed to be anti-govt & pro-business?" Speaking of Iraq, the Shiites have prevailed there, routing the Sunnis outta their enclaves, inadvertantly making the "troop buildup" a mirage of semi-successful, military intelligence (oxymoron intended). Meanwhile over in Afghanistan the Pakistanis are shooting at our helicopters & troops, warning NATO forces there to be very afraid, because they have elephants ridden by crazed, sword-wielding, turban-wearing, holy warriors high on hashish just waiting in reserve. As if that wasn't enough, Hollywood has announced cutbacks on all the fall schedules, cancelling shows like 'The Office' and 'The Closer', while Estee Lauder released their new Sarah Palin line, complete with 'pit bull lipstick.'
Ok, so I'm kidding. Thinking about you & hoping to to make you laugh!

PHONE/CALLING ETHIOPIA
In case you would like to call me, I have rented a phone for at least the next month. The number is:
011 251 912129381
However, Skype doesn't work to call Ethiopia and after talking to my immediate family there seems to be no inexpensive way to call here. While I would love to chat, I now have regular access to email so that is the best way to get in touch with me!
Love to all,
Nicole

Hi Nicole!
Great to find this site and read your blog. Sounds like a great adventure. You always learn a lot about the world and about life by traveling and living and working with the people of the country you travel in. This will be one of the best educations you can ever get. Be safe and well.

Looking at the latest photos, I was filled with immense nostalgia - Thank you little Nicole!
On photo #6 of confusion on the road, the white and blue taxi in front of your red vehicle reads the following (written on the back of its window just above a Crucifix): "All is possible through HIM (The Savior)"
Well little one, I hope you are having fun - God Bless you and all those around you always,
Ninni and Family
PS: I am soooooooooo envious of you right now, as I miss my Ethiopia deeply (*_*)
Oh by the way, Wanna House = Wanna means Main, therefore, Main House... If you don't already know, I thought you would want to know ...
:-))

Oh Nicole!

Cousin! I was so excited to read all of your posts today, it sounds like you have already had so many adventures. ;) I know this will be a life changing experience for you and all of the kids you are already helping. I never would have thought back when we were roomies that you would be off exploring in Ethiopia one day. I'm so proud of you for taking such a big risk and stepping out of your normal comfort zone. It's something very few people ever do but the payoff for you will be huge.
It sounds like some wild rain there - it is Seattle pissing on us today, nothing like the big downpours you get there! I miss you and love you - how do we call you there?
Love love you cousin!

Hey sweetie, I hope all is well in Ethiopia! I hate to post with bad news, but I thought you would want to know. Kelly's dad passed away on Wednesday. If you get an opportunity to get on facebook, I am sure she would love to hear from you. I am going to the memorial service on Monday and will give her your love. We miss you a lot already, have fun with those kids!!!

Hey Hey Nicole! I was glad to see you made a post, but I have to say I'm worried you might fall in a mud hole. It sounds like you're having quite the experience already. Keep the stories coming, and tell all the kids to love the dogs!
BTW, I hope it's ok that I brag to people that I know somebody whose chillin' in Africa...I'm getting pretty famous off of your doings.
