Mexico City, Mexico
I absolutly love waking up in the morning and remembering you are in a foreign country. Unfortunetly it is not as pleasant when you also remember that Air Canada managed to leave your surfboard in Canada!!!
I´ve been held up in choatic, polluted and overpopulated Mexico City for two days waiting for my surfboard to arrive. It´s still not here :(
Yesterday I spent the day in Chapultepec Park (Mexico´s version of central park). It was sunday so the park was packed with famillies and lovers enjoying its shade and relative tranquility. Did some great people watching! Visited the Museum of Anthopology, saw some amazing artifacts including the famous Aztec sun disc but there are only so many ceramics and textiles you can see before they all look the same. Found some shade for lunch (which included a mango on a stick...genious) then headed up to the Bastille just before sunset for some amazing views of the city. That night I headed to Garibaldi Square to listen to the wandering Mariachi bands.
Today I spent the day strolling around the Centro Historico. There are some beautiful colonial buildings here but the crowds are starting to get to me. I hoping my surfboard will arrive tonight so i can jump on an overnight bus to the coast. I´m dying to get to the beach!!!
