Hertford Road, Singapore
Just over two weeks in and already having a blast! Singapore is a fun city and super safe. The only danger is from loosing your self in the shopping malls! We spent an hour just trying to get out of one! Been round the fountain of wealth three times said to bestow good fortune for all :o)
Opted for the nature trail and trecked round the nature reserve...a 3km stretch of rainforest covering 164 hectare. About 54% is built up city stylee. Amazing to see such a haven of plants and animals, very refreshing after wondering the bustling streets. Made it to Bukit Timah summit 163 m with thunder storm and rain just as I made it to the top. Good rest in the summit hut to see out the storm! And an authentic descent through watery paths!
Staying in Edward's appartment which is rather like a peaceful retreat. His side door leads straight into a swimming pool, so of course having to make good use of that!
Random facts: 4.4 million people and $1000 fine for littering. 1997 Civil Defence Sletler Act requires every home to have a bom shelter...! Fine cusine is frog porridge - wonder what quakers would say to that...hmmm or maybe fish head soup?
