Natasha's Adventure
Coming home soon!
Trip has gone really fast, today i'm off to Plaza Indonesia which is just across the road from our hotel...which sounds easy enough but it's diagonally across and there is this HUGE roundabout in the middle. Its the biggest thing you've ever seen. So to get there i have to walk down one side of the road, past the centre on the other until i get to the overpass and cross there, because the traffic is nuts. We went there yesterday and got some food, and decided that because we bought ice cream we should take the shorter route back which didn't involve the overpass. Let me tell you i felt like eddie murphy crossing the road in bowfinger! But anyway when we went yesterday we stopped in at this bakery shop and it was so amazing - they were making everything in front of you, behind a glass wall. You literally take a trey and go around putting all the cakes etc on it then take it to the counter and pay. Dad you would have been in heaven. They had every bakery treat under the sun. Anyway this shopping centre looks huge, it's going to take me a few hours to get around it, and i'm not feeling confident that i can get home again without getting lost. (I still get lost in marion, i've got no chance here!)
Last night we went to Cilantros - Darren's favourite restaurant. It's on the 46th floor of this building, and you sit at a table right up against the window so you can look out on Jakarta. It's amazing. There were three of us at dinner and we ordered heaps of food, but it ended up costing about $25 a head (including drinks). So pretty cheap when you consider that to dine in a restaurant like that in Aust would be sooo expensive.
Anyway, Darren is working all day, we are meeting back here for our 'western' lunch - the rolls and ham and cheese we bought at the supermaket yesterday! So i am going shopping now, and i will look out for the flash dad. I may come back online later in the afternoon while Darren is at work and tell you how i went.
We fly out tonight for Singapore at 710, then we leave Sing for home at about midnight. So it's a long day ahead but we'll be home soon.
