We started the day with a very chocolately breakfast at our chocolate hotel! There was even a chocolate fondue! We left feeling very sick, got a map of perugia and went on our way. The only directions we were given (as the hotel wasn't on the map!) was turn left, then again and keep going up the hill! It certainly was a hill! Infact it was so steep we had to stop for water half way, and neither us would have been surprised if we got to the top and found snow! So yes, perugia is at the top of a massive hill! There are even escalators randomly that help you up there!
We wondered around Perugia which was full of streets that went down and streets that went up! I will never complain about Bensham bank or Royal Park Road again!!
There wasn't alot to do in Perugia, there was loads of churches and stuff, but even better, there was some fantastic views! There are more view points around the city than anything else, but all the steep inclines are worth it! We could see for miles and miles! There were gorgeous views of the Umbrian countryside and mountains in the distance!
We walked a fair distance around Perugia and decided to get the bus back down the hill! We went back to the hotel and chilled out by the pool with what was left of the sunshine!
We caught the bus to go back to the centre of Perugia for some tea and went to a little restaurant for some pasta. We explored a bit of Perugia but most places were shut and if you took a few steps from the main street there wasn't much else!
So we're back at the hotel, ready to pack and move onto the next place: Bologna!
Ciao! xx
