Tasha on her travels
well we finally made it to bangkok, alot of drama tho on the way!! i thought iwas literally going to die on the mini bus as they fitted about 20 of us in a 8 seater! had a full on panick attack which was not fun atall! all been a bit ill recently too! ah well, got a boat for 5 hours and then had to wait 3 hours for next train. there were no sleeping berths available for the 10 hour journey so had to endure seats on local train with us all in different carriages! thats were the drama began!!!.....me and rhi managed to sit together in end in middle of a load of locals who kept shouting 'i love you'! amy was in diff carriage. by this time i wasnt even on this planet i was so tiered! 10 hours latyer the train stopped and everyone got off, so me and rhia did expecting aimo to be waiting on platform for us.... but no amy! we'd only got off on wrong bloody stop!!! amy was still on train!! massive panick ensued! we darted around looking to see where we were (bearing in mind it was 5.30 am) and found a taxi who started laughing at us when we asked if we were anywhere near bangkok!! after several brokemn english conversations we managed to find out main stoip was 20 mins away so got a taxi. hoping amy would stay on train oblivious and we'd meet her there. except she'd seen us get off but couldnt get off herself so got off at next stop and got a taxi to were we'd got off!! aggghhh ! so missed each other, amy had to buy a sim card for her phone to get my niumber and call me to find out where we were! luckily we all managed to make it eventually!! decided to calm ourselves down with a nice cuppa in a cafe but as we sat down a rat ran past us with a thai women chasing it with a broom,, we decided not to stay for breakfast!!went round bangkok today everyone is stupidly helpful cant get over it! we needed to get to cambodia and it was going to be about 4 quid but apoparently most tour companies have a habbit of putting a little something extra in the air condition to make tourists sleepy and then rob them...so yeah decide to go with government buses at about 5 x the price but hey! everyone keeps stopping us in the street to help us and give us directions. it was 50p to hire a tuk tuk for the day to take us around loads of sites!! amy and rhia bought gem rings for about 20 quid and i bought a 3 piece cashmiere wool charcoal suit! for 80!! not bad at all!! leaving for cambodia at 7am for 12 hr journey tomoz. speak soon xx
