Tasha on her travels
wooooooooow! again what can i say?! its been amazing, cant remember when i last wrote so ill probably end up reapeating myself again! so we left noosa for hervey bay to begin trip to fraser island. we had a fuyll briefing, baically dont go any where near the sea as it has the biggest tiger shark (next most dangerous to great white) anywhere i n world and also when camping dont leave any food a\out and go around in pairs as youll probably otherwise get mauled by a dingo and also when driving the vans around its really easy to tip them over as there so top heaavy with all the camping gear, and if you do that theres no help available as no phones etc and also itll cost uyou $70,000. great!!! cant wait! we then met our groups, we were with two irish couples and few canadians and dutch, really cool group and we all got on really well, so all 10 of us went off to d oour shopping etc and then met back up next morning at 5am , yes 5am! was stupidly excited and then we saw the jeeps, wow they were huge! so went off on our merry way, severely dragged down by copous amounts of beer and goon (wine) to the ferry. there were 4 koala (company were with) vans and started off in convoy, then 10 mins onto island first car got stuck!! fraser island is worlds biggest sand island, and there is a hell of a lot of sand!! its knee deep and you have to rev the engine so muych just to get through it, while being careful not to tip the thing and all 10 of its occupants. we named our van 'rocky' for obvious reasons! drove to lake msckenzie there , all tracks are very thin and one way, and its was beautiful! as cant go into swim we went into lakes, and they were most beautiful things, nicer than any beach ive seen! full of turtles too! we then went to lake wabby where there were catfish half my size to swim with and it was liek being in the sahara, cant even explain the sand dunes, they were out of this world! so we all went for a swim and loved it! then it was my turn to drive!!! had to drive in bare feet too as only had flip flops1 felt like i was driving an articulated lorry! soooooooo much fun! went off driving over massive bumps and everyone in the back goes flying! then got us down tot hte beach were you can really put your foot down! i was scared to death but loved it! got to get myself a jeep and a motorcyle when home! my little Ka doesnt wuite do it anymore after driving a 5 litre monster! it had two gearsticks!!! so we ended up bumping into the other koala vans and camped up with them, had a vvery sandly spag bol over our ridiculously samll gas fire! going to the loo was an experience and we all definately bonded as a group as our friendship was taken to another level! played lots of driinking games and had lots of fun, amy went to tip the blood left from the meat into the sea...hmm we didnt qwuite think that one through! dont sharks have pretty good senses of smell, and also they can go into 1 metre of water! whoops!!
right i have to keep this short as not much longer on the internet left! got up early next day and wenmt to indian head! basically a massive rock looking over crystal clear sea, i saw a whale!!!! clear as day breach the water, and if htat wasnt amazing enough then a group of dolphins put on a show for us and also loads of turtles and rays were around, it was out of this world!!! went to som more lakes and then drinkin re commenced! the next morning we were rudely awaken by the rain! nooo! so i hopped into the jeep, as i did so a dingo totted by! there were 30 of us but the camp went into full panick! everyone ran for the nearest, tent/jeep one girl was on her own going to loo and the dingo ran at her! she ran our direction faster than ever seen anyone run! then another dingo joined us, theyre gorgeous looking animals but apparently vicious little b*****s!! they werent even slighly scared by our shouting and horn beeping, all the lads had jumped into our jeep, leaving their girlfirends in their tents, nice! eventually we realised we had to just get on wiht stuff so hopped out of jeeps to pack up while the dingos watched on! went for a wet drive and got stuck in the sand! had 10 people push us out with our bonnet steaming...hmm there goes our bond! anyway to cut a long story short we all got back in one piece, absolutely shattered, but having had the time of our lives and met loads of wicked mates! and we got our bond back, despite dricving through salt water on a number of occasions! so now were in airlie beach on route to whitsundays after a 13 hr bus joiurney! were meeting up with about 30 of people on the trip as theyr on same boat as us in whisundays! got such a wicked group of mates here now, cant walk down the street anywhere without bumping into somene! anyway gotta go as girlies are waiting. lots of love, ill ring you today mum and dad xxx
