7:30am- up early to get ready for the 3 and a half hour bridge climb this morning!!! Hope the weather isn't too windy.
8:30am- hopped on the bus to Bondi junction this morning and managed to catch rush hour! Got to Bondi junction for 8:40am leaving us 20 minutes to get to Sydney harbour bridge. We were debating whether to get on the train and this kind Australian man (first one ever) was earwigging our conversation and told us to hop on the train or we would never make it! We literally are like blind leading the blind!
8:47am- missed the first train as didn't know whether or not it was stopping where we needed to go!
9:10am arrived in Sydney, Milsons Point for the bridge climb leaving us 15 minutes to get there which was really lucky. Came out of the station, realised we bought the wrong tickets but we luckily got let out and then realised we were at the wrong end of the bridge.
9:15am- Gave up on the fact that we tried to be on time as we had to then walk across the whole bridge to get to the other side! Only us!
9:44am- Finally arrived at the bridge climb and the lady luckily let us on with the next group. Our tour guide was a nutjob, so enthusiastic and loved life haha! Her name was Maria and she asked us what our heritage was. We told her we were Greek from London and she decided to shout 'no freaking way so am I'. Our group were from all around the world, UK, Hungary, USA and Melbourne. Obviously me and steph were the clowns and everyone was laughing at us; mainly because Steph was s***ting herself and they all found it funny!
10:05am- Briefing and preparation for the bridge climb, we had space suits, belts with equipment, handkerchiefs for when steph got emosh at the top of the bridge, hats, radios, headsets and accessory holders for our sunglasses.
1:40pm- the climb was amazing!!!! Maria knew her stuff. At one point we were standing directly under the train line and could see the oncoming traffic. Actually had a geography and history lesson on the bridge and learnt loads about Sydney right back to the 1920s! Probably learnt more than what we did in school!!
2:00pm- went for a mini tour of Sydney opera house.
3:00pm- sat at the harbour with a baskin and robins ice cream waiting for our ferry to Watson's Bay. We also passed Rose Bay and Double Bay on the trip which looked gorgeous!
4:00pm- arrived at Watson's Bay and went straight to Doyles!! The fish and chips were AMAZING. I don't even eat them at home but the fish was so tasty! We also went for a walk to the gap and got some great shots up there. Parrots were freely flying around and we also came across a Korean film set where they were shooting for a new clothing range. Obviously I got in trouble for being on my phone!! Who would wear bogie green colour nowadays anyway!
7:00pm- got back to Bondi and just wanted to chill after a long day but everyone back at the hostel wanted us to go out. Wednesday's are the biggest nights in BONDI so we thought why not let's check it out!
10pm- got to Bondi Beach Hotel, realised I forgot ID. Luckily I had a picture of it on my phone and the guy let me through (who also remembered me on the way out and high fives me lol).
11pm- we managed to loose everyone in the hostel, don't know why they invited us NO ONE STOOD WITH US ANYWAY!!! As we were at the bar, some Australian guys started chatting to his who were really friendly! It all goes downhill from there. One of them started dancing like he was a bit of spaghetti on the loose!!! Steph and I just ended up laughing in their faces and had to leave!
Think the Aussies should just stick to surfing
