Nat and Beck Go Large!
We're enjoying Singapore so much that we've put our flight to Oz back by two days!! Can now experience the Liverpool vs Spurs match in the Penny Black - an essential experience for any Kopite!
First stop was Lau Pa Sat, one of the best food courts in Singapore (and Anna and Diane's favourite restaurant!), where we had satay - delish, going to end up about 3 stone heavier by the time we leave here, the food is sooo good!
Then we went to Penny Black for our initiation into the East Of Anfield (www.eastofanfield.com) Walked into the bar - was an amazing sight!! Past and present team shirts and loads of flags adorned the bar, which was a mass of Singaporean and original Scousers, and the atmosphere was fantastic!
Almost 11pm, nearly time for kick-off, and we found ourselves in the midst of the circle with Black Scouser singing "You'll Never Walk Alone" with about 100 other "Scousers"! Don't get that in the Priory!
After the match and another rendition of YNWA to celebrate the 1-0 win, we mingled with the crowd and discovered that there were other proper Scousers there - someone from Seaforth, and someone who's mum lives in Newlyn Avenue by Becky!! It's a small world after all, amazing how football always forms bonds between people!!
