London: Day 6.
London is definitely one of my favorite cities on the planet. We got here about 7:30/45ish last night, we had a great buffet dinner at the hotel, and then we had the rest of the night free! So we went out, had a little bit of fun, and then came home and crashed cause we were all EXHAUSTED from the crazy amount of traveling we did.
Today, though, we started on a guided bus tour of the city! The traffic is a lot crazier here, so it took us longer to see less things, but it was still cool! We got to see the changing of the guard parade leading to Buckingham Palace (even though we didn't actually get to go up to the gate, which I'm a little annoyed about), then we drove past Westminster Abbey, Big Ben & parliament, and then we went to the Tower of London! We were kind of on a tight time schedule because we had a concert this afternoon, so we only got like 2 hours to see the tower and also get lunch :( We DID get to see the Crown Jewels, so I'm not complaining too much. Then we went to Wagamama for lunch because I remember going there last time I was in London and it was AMAZING. Guess what, 8 years later, and it's still amazing! Haha but we had to scarf down all of our food in like 20 minutes which was definitely a challenge.
We then went to Southwark Cathedral for our concert! The acoustics in that place were incredible. We made our circle along the aisles of the church to sing Angus Dei, which is usually a problem cause it feels like it's just you singing, but I could hear everyone! We got nothing but good comments from the audience, yet again! I really hope that people have been getting recordings of these concerts because we've been kicking butt!
We had the rest of the night "free," or so we thought. Jordan and I had made plans to explore London and see all the stuff we didn't get to see today (St. Paul's, Buckingham Palace, the Eye, Kensington Palace & Hyde Park, etc.), but apparently that was not the case because instead of taking is back to the hotel, they took us to Covent Gardens, the BUSIEST part of London on a Thursday night, and said good luck. So we had to change out plans really quickly, and a couple of us took the tube over to Knightsbridge to go to Harrods and dinner. So I got a good amount of shopping done, and I ate fish and chips! We're back at the hotel now, and about to go out and have some fun for the rest of the night. If only I could find my red lipstick...
