Today I acquired two unexpected souvenirs from Sydney: a blister on my right heel and shin splints on my left leg. I have walked far today - to the Rocks, across the Harbour Bridge (for photography purposes) back across the bridge, around the Quay to the Opera House, up through the botanic gardens and all the way back to central Sydney to the hostel.
I've taken a quadrillion pictures today, and played with my camera for hours and hours. The Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and the Sydney skyline are all really photogenic targets and my camera loved it as much as I did. I also walked through the Rocks, where a market took place in the streets today. There was loads of beautiful souvenirs and I especially like the handmade surfboard clock, but had to stop myself, coz there's no way it will fit in my backpack on top of all other Australia-gems I have purchased. The Rocks is a much more expensive market than Paddy's, which made it difficult to take the prices seriously - when you're used to seeing boomerangs priced at $7, you don't really wanna be paying $35... But I had a cup of oldfashioned lemonade :) mmm!
It's been a sunny day and quite warm - beautiful sightseeing weather. I wanted to go to the zoo as well, but found out that apparently you have to take the ferry to get there. By the time I realised, I wouldn't have had anough time to visit all animals, so that's my plan for tomorrow - Taronga Zoo. There's really not much else to say about today, I've just been a proper tourist (wearing trainers, a backpack, a map and a camera). Absolutely love Sydney!!!
