Notre Dame bell tower was the first destination today. May Day in Paris and everyone was out and about. We knew we wouldn't get into see very much so spent the day walking around. Our apartment is 5 minutes walk from Notre Dame cathedral which is where we started. The queues to get into the cathedral were hundreds of meters long so we wandered by. I have added some photos of our apartment in Paris. It is in very busy tourist area but once we are inside we are in our own little piece of Parisian paradise. The apartment is on the 3rd floor, 65 steps in all, and no lift but that means dinner disappears as I climb the stairs. Yesterday we were in the town of Reims. Another cathedral to visit and some champagne to be tasted. The cathedral is another large and beautiful building with more amazing stained glass. I particularly liked the glasswork designed by Chagall and have a couple of photos of it in the album for this town. We have spent a fantastic day wandering the streets of Brugge. Our hotel is on a canal which meant we started the day with a canal tour through areas of Brugge that can't be accessed on foot. We visited various churches including one which has a Michelangelo sculpture. I have included a photo in the Brugge album.
