Snow has come to Central Europe and here we are travelling through it. We have visited a number of towns in Germany over the past few days. It has been wonderful, some wine tasting and lots of history over the past few centuries. The snow is beautiful and staying around given the low temperatures.
The cruise continues to be fantastic. Unending amounts of excellent food, good wine and brilliantly organised tours. The past couple of days have brought snow which everyone on the boat is excited about. It certainly makes for some beautiful vistas. I am hoping I can upload some photos as we seem to have a stronger connection now.
We continue on to Cologne for New Years Eve and are hoping to see the celebrations and fireworks in that city. We still have a number of locks to pass before then and we keep our fingers crossed that they all work properly to allow us to get through. This morning one was out of action due to frozen mechanics. Another lock broke down a couple of days ago which meant we stayed put over night and had to make up time the next day. It has been really interesting see how the rivers and canals work for both leisure cruisers and barges.
Will continue to keep posting when I have good connectivity. Until then, cheers.
