Im not really sure where i left off as it has been a very long time since my last entry.
after roturau i went to a place called waitomo where i went black water rafting and saw glowworms in pitch black conditions and was the sole source of light for some periods of the the tour. it was great we then went down a zip line and swum in water for hours and climbed up and down small water falls. The next place on the stop was a small town called taupo. Taupo was actually quite a nice place the night life was pretty good and involved alot of drunken stupidity, i.e. limbo! while i was there i went sky diving at 15000 feet and was free falling for over a minute! it was amazing i reach terminal velocity for a human, i never felt so free in all my life. Then the parachute deployed and i had a go at paragliding which was a nice surprise and i put myself into a free spin towards the ground. I spent over 4 days in Taupo waiting to do a volcanic walk however it was cancelled every single day which pissed alot of people off including myself as i spent alot of time there. so instead of doing that walk i went for one of the longest runs i have ever done, i did over one and half hours flat out on a constatly chnage gradient along lake taupo, it was great but was exhuatsed after i did it. I met alot of cool people in taupo.
The next place to stop was a place called river valley but before we went there i went to a place where i saw sheep shearing, alot of water fall, jumping off a hukka falls in to freezing water, and load more but i can't remember of the top of my head. anyway river valley was a very isiolated place, everyone was very hungover from the night before and was not in the mood for drinking but this didn't stop the local who were having a party and playing the drums till 3.30am and the some people came into our room and started trying to wake everyone up so we would drink and pissed alot of people off. anyway the next day i went white water rafting which was good but nothing special as we were not allowed to go on someof the more danagerious/ fun parts of the river.
I went to wellington next New zealand capital which was an amazing city and proably my favourite place so far. while i was there it reminded me of edinburgh and was a good change from the towns and villages i had been in before. in wellington i went to the national meusum and saw the world one of the worlds largets octopuses and learnt all about NZ history. i also walked up mount victoria and saw the whole city alothough it was pouring with rain and was very cold. This was the last place i was in on the north island before i departed for the south isalnd of NZ. (there alot of typos here but i dont really care at the moment, lol)
after awaking at very early time for the ferry across the sea i eventually made it to picton and the stayed in Nelson. in Nelson i met some pretty cool people and a load of old faces i knew. while i was there i went out a started drinking went to a strip club (against my will of course) and some how got lost for over 2 hours while looking mcdonalds and some how eneded up at the deserted motorway and the woods in pitch black environment. anyway i some how made it to the hostel later that night but hoped never to embark on one of those experience again.... but i was wrong. I then went to place called Westport which was absolutly crap and the hostel didn't let us drink so we just drank out of tea cups and called it tea instead of beer. that night i got so drunk and met everyone... only problem is i met everyone and everyone met me and knew all about me and i can't recall anything about them. Never getting that drunk again and so far i haven't.
I then went to place called the puu pub in the middle of no where, near the beach and some lake and the oldest land load in new zealand called lez. later that night it was a theme night that involved alot of drinking, the theme was tight and bright and i looked like fred flint stone more than anything else. after drinking alot and not getting drunk i headed to the beach at 2am with a german guy who wanted to take cool pictures at night and it was fantastic the moon was bright red!. The next day involved franz josef glacier area.
Now franz josef is a small village with a an even smaller population. i went hiking up the glacier which offered stunning views and waterfalls. i also came across parotts that live on the glacier and pretty much hunt humans and disturb them for fun. what i thought was amazing is that such birds can live on the glacier. later that night we all got very drunk and a fight almost broke out with another tour company called stray and even later one of the women almost got raped in the hostel by some locals but some guy chased off the people, i was heroically in bed guarding the area like a sloth.... still pissed off i wasn't there and that they didn't catch the guys who tried to get the girl.
anyway it just shows that this kinda thing can happen anywhere.... sadly.
after franz josef i went to place called wanaka where i fired real guns for the first time ever, which was cool. i wasnt that good with the 22 rifle but i was the master with the shotgun and clay pigeon shooting. wanaka was a very nice place wish i spent more time there but im not sure what i would have done if i did. The next few days i was in queenstown one of the places that inspired this trip in the first place. you can do anything there litterally anything, it has the worlds best burger place i had ever been too called Fergburger, they are huge! I also did the fourth buggest bungy jump in the world while i was their called the Nevis and it was 134 metre high. it was very nevrackinga nd i stood on the ledge waiting to jump for 30sec till i final did, it was the scarriest thing i done for a long time, but it was amazing but i still think a sky dive was better as it lasts longer and you go faster. I also went canyoning while i was in queenstown and was good but was alot of work for what it was. i think i jumped higher in hukka falls (which i did illegally of course), alot of other random stuff happen in queenstown including a guy who sleep walks and pisses on people beds, dildo racing , sexual position contest, drink tea pots, walking up the mountain, legeing ( go carts down a hill) and generally getting drunk. But queenstown is a great place but you just need to have the money to live there. Im heading back there later on so may do more there.
after queenstown i headed to the scottish city dunedin which is mean to be a amazing student city. while i was there i saw supposedly the worlds steepest street... i very much doubt it as in NZ everything is the world biggest or the worlds best and most the time it looks good but they obviously are not. dudedin would be a great city to live in a a student, every student house looked like the national lapoon animal house (the film). also a few weeks back the the students of otiago (dunedin) got into alot of trouble for rioting at the indie 500 event where alot of cars were wet alight by the students and stopped the firefights and the police form putting them out.
after dunedin i saw alot of seal lions and one penguin oon the coast before heading to Invercargill the worlds most southern city and it was a dump! although my spirts of the place was probably dampened by the fact i was locked in the toilet for 30 minutes while people just stood a laughed while a random japanese guy help me get out by lock picking the door.
The last few days i have spent in Te anau and Milford sound, Know milford sound is suppose to be on the world best places. so to be different i went scuba diving there and saw sharks, black coral (actually white), a few dolphine briefly, and a whole colony of lobster or crayfish as they call them here. after the dive we were not allowed to leave for a few hours as we had to drive up to get out which can cause alot of problems after diving if we are not careful because of the altitute, so we went hiking through the rain in the rainforest to a waterfall.it was a day that i soon hope not to forget.
after te anau im heading back to queenstown and only have 1 month left in New zealand... as it is planned at the moment.... but may change.?
