HELLO!!!!! Im so sorry i have been too australian chilled out and not done a journal antry for a while... lots to tell!!
Christmas was the coldest on record and we freezed in a house with the heating on! what is all this about sitting on the beach having a barbie?? It made me feel far too much like i was at hme and was thouroughly unimpressed. i will be lodging a complaint to the australian embassy.
New YEars was quite different. I was at the Falls Music Festival where I was working for the wilderness society. WHen i say "working" i actually mean sitting on a stall for 4 hours over 4 days... not too bad hey! The festival was in tasmania, in Marion Bay, a beautiful spot in the Tasmanian outback! WOW... what a way to see in the new year. I hung around in Tassy for a week after and workied on the farm there. I had a great week, lots of sunshine and good old-fashioned australian countryside.
my jet-setting life style wisked me swiftly onto Sydney to meet the lovely Emma. We made a beautiful scene at the airport on our meeting, involving screams, tears and many many hugs. It was so great to see her. We quickly escaped the bustling metropol of SYdey to the sllepy seaside town of Port Macquarie and then found some great backpacking nightlife up the coast in Byron Bay. Brisbane has been the highlight so far. I met a girl in Tasmania who told me we should stay at her house in Brisbane, the only was, was that she would not be there, she said her house mates wouldnt mind. so....off the train at brisbane thetwo munchkins, emma and naomi, bumbledin the direction of this house...."hi...I met emmi in tassy, she said we could stay, is that cool?"...we were greated with some great australian hospitality! phew!
One of the housemates took us under his wing and showed us around Brisbane. On the second day we decided to go on a road trip to Cedar creek in the Bush..."there's a water hole there, we can swim", he said. We droe into the bush, hadagreat barbie and found a gorgeous water hole where we could swim. However, i clearly couldnt wait to get in, as i fell in, fully clothed, with my bag! classy!
anyway, we stopped off for couple of days in noosa, a classy little resort witha spectacular national park and now.... we are in Hervey Bay preparing for a trip to Fraser Island which promises to be the highlight of our trip...watch this space.
Will be doing pictures soon i promise. lots of love, Naomi and Emma xx
