Hi Naomi, my name is catherine and I am off to Uganda on Sunday. I see that you have worked at Ssunga Health Centre before and I am going to be working there next week. I am a theatre nurse and I have collected lots of unused consumable (sutures, drapes, gloves etc) which are just out of date but still sterile. Do you think these will be of any use to the health centre please. I would welcome your advice. I am also taking lots of premature baby clothes which I had when my son was born very early at 28 weeks! He is 28years old now and soon to be a daddy himself. Thankfully his wife is near to full term which is why we have all decided to give the clothes to someone who may need them. I look forward to hearing your advice and maybe some of your stories. Many thanks. Catherine Dolan. X

Hello Naomi,
Already back in Uganda aigain? How was your trip in east of europe? Probably very nice, comfartable comparing with traveling in Uganda and very nice spending time with your friends. Wasn't it hard to go back to kampala alone again? Did you start working in the childrenshome already? Here everything went very well till last weekend. I started working on the ward for neurolagi for the summer period, but now i'm suffering from serious backproblems a hernia. My left foot is deaf and i can hardly walk. This week i'll probably have a mri scan and after that they make a discision if i need surgery. I use a lot of painkillers and i'm feeling often a little stoned, quite a nice feeling to be honest . I'm afraid our camping holiday to italie isn't going through. very pitty.
Well hope youre still having a nice time in Uganda. Did you already met some newe volunteers for the next period?
big hugs marianne

Hi Naomi!!
How are you doing!! Already back from east-europe?? And again back in Kampala?? I'm very glad for you that you can work in Nsambia Babyhouse!! And also very curious how you will find it there.
I'm back in Holland now... since 2 days. In the end i changed my ticket to 12 days earlier because i was a bit tired of travelling alone. So here i am, in Holland, missing africa. We had a great time there, and again: thanks for everything!!! Hope that all your remaining dreams will be fulfilled in the last 6 months of your stay!! We keep in touch!!
xx Jantine

I can't believe how brave you are what with the toilets, rats and bathing fascilities, i'm not sure how i would cope with that. It sounds like you are having an amazing time and you manage to look so glamarous in your photos (love the black outfit with the green beads). Anyway i hope you continue to have a great time, love hearing what you are doing. Take Care, love Clare xxx

I could hardly read your story about the rats. It good to see you looking so well and relaxed. I'm happy to hear that you'll soon be working in a hospital with little ones too. My Maths GCSE is in the morning and I'm waiting to hear about the essys I sent in last week, Sinead had a great 15th birthday, she got a new camera and she is in Worth Abbey this weekend for a retreat before her confirmation in June. Take care - Love Linda x

Hi Naomi
Just had a look at all of your photos and they are fab, like carolyn says it would be good to see one of your house and possible room and maybe family you are staying with. Looked at photos with mum and dad and they think it's fab what you're doing, mum can really imagine you in the second home wanting to bring all the babies home.
I'm so glad i have finally been able to get on to this and can't wait to see more photos and hear more disgusting details of your adventures!! Keep working hard
Love xxx Louise and Jack plus my mum and dad of course xxxx

Hiya Nomi, just read your last blog. I was horrified to hear about the rats. Can't believe you can manage to sleep in that room, make sure you have permanent traps down. we dont want you getting some rat disease. By the way have you had the s***s yet, or is that stomach of steel still working?
Your new photos are really good, pleased to see some of you. Can you put some photos of the the house and room you are staying in. Would love to see what it is like.
Glad your getting on ok and you are working on the tan. Miss ya loads
IT IS 1.30 IN THE MORNING AND WE ARE ALL ON A NIGHT SHIFT READING ABOUT YOUR ADVENTURES AND LOOKING AT THE LOVELY PICTURES. LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE HAVING A WONDERFUL TIME. ALTHOUGH WE DON'T KNOW HOW YOU CAN DO IT.
TRYING TO THINK OF GOSSIP AT WORK AND ALL WE CAN THINK OF IS THAT PHILLIPA AND LAURA HAVE BOTH HAD THERE BABIES AND ARE BOTH CALLED HARRY!! ALL WELL.
KATE IS BACK FROM HER 6MONTH ADVENTURE AND HAS HAD A SUPER TIME.
WE WERE ALL ACCUSED OF STEALING A RADIOGRAPHERS WATCH!!! HE CAME TO THE WARD TO DO X RAY AND CLAIMS HE LEFT HIS WATCH. WHAT EVER!! HE EVEN PHONED THE POLICE. WHAT A LOOSER.
COLLETTE IS LEAVING. RETIRING TO BE A LADY OF LEISURE.
NOT MUCH THAT WE CAN THINK OF TO SAY REALLY. WE JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT WE ARE ALL THINKING OF YOU AND THAT WE WOULD ALL HAVE DIFFICULTY IN USING THOSE TOILETS AND NOT BE ABLE TO s***E FOR A YEAR (AINSLEY TALKING!).
P.S YOUR IPR IS DUE!!!!
TAKE CAREXXXXXX
Rebecca
Love you more!! Your photos are great- you've done some amazing portraits of the children- they look really professional.
Here I am still in Leeds- the Shaft won't leave me alone. I've gone out with other people like Liz&Rob and Carolyn but then SHE'LL turn up like a bad smell and the others slowly drift off leaving me alone with her again. I hope you manage to cope ok on your trip around Europe!! Seriously- it all sounds really exciting and I would probably be even happier for you if the interrailing tickets hadn't turned up at 6.30am on Saturday morning!
Hope you continue having a good time in Uganda. I'm looking forward to your photos from the convent!! Rebecca
