Doug Neville Hi again Naomi, Great to hear more of your adventures. It all sounds fantastic, and I'm especially pleased for you that you seem to be laughing your way through various misdemeanors! (I'm also trying to imagine you touring the world in a wooden canoe...!) Ellie told me that your family should be coming out to see you soon which I'm sure will be fantastic. Well done for persevering with the teaching too as I'm sure the unpredictability is really frustrating, let alone the enormous class sizes! On which note, how long do you have left out there now? Make the most of it - it will soon pass!! You've probably heard but we've had a new arrival recently. Hannah is now 6 weeks old and is ever so sweet, especially now that she learnt how to smile a couple of weeks back! Looking forward to reading more from you soon!

Lynne Hiya Naomi, Hope all`s well with you and you are having a good time. Your last blog really made me laugh(just what I needed after a long day) especially the bit about the bikes. Hope there have been no more experiences like this!! I sometimes get ideas for lessons on the `tes website` I will email your mum the details in a moment. We are all meeting up this weekend so I`ll look forward to an update. Viel Spaß und Mach`s gut Lynne x
Naomi Green Hi Lynne Yes everything is well with me thanks! Having a really good time. Unfortunately there have been many bike incidents like this, especially as we bought our own bikes, and then I found that I can't ride it because its too high for me! Thanks very much, my mum said she would tell me about it when she rings and I'll have a look. Hope everything is well with you! Love Naomi

Carol Riding Well done Naomi! It sounds exhausting ,but you're doing a worthwhile job. We had a Thinking Day Evening last Wed where we had asked Guides to dress up as someone they thought had changed the World in some way ,and to find out a little info about them. We had 2Lady Baden Powell s I(I was one of them)2Einstein s ,2 Florence Nightingale s,(Kate was one of them),Winston Churchill,Picasso,Rosa Parks ,Grace Kelly,Ellie was Barack Obama,Elizabeth was wearing her Mums Guiders top representing Rainbow,Brownie and Guide Leaders all over the world and many more ,they really surprised me with their efforts. Your Mum said your students need some exercise books so Wendy and I thought of hopefully doing an Easter Bingo Night where Rainbows start first with games of Bingo,Brownies after ,then Guides carry on when they arrive. Prizes will be eggs or Easter novelties .Hope we raise plenty of money for their books. Lots of Love Auntie Carol &Uncle Brian Xxx
Naomi Green Hello! How are you and Uncle Brian? Happy wedding anniversary for last week! Oh wow that sounds really good! Seems like they really made an effort! I miss Rainbows/Guiding! Thank you very very much, that sounds great. I'm going to Lilongwe (the capital) next week so will find out how much the books cost then. I'm hoping to buy the Standard 6 pupils English books of their own, as its far too difficult for them to answer all the comprehension books when they don't have the stories in front of them - They currently share 1 book between about 10 of them, which just does not work! I also might try to buy some normal english story books as I'm thinking of starting a weekly reading group. Thanks very much for your help! Miss you Naomi

re: Teaching Classes of over 50 African ChildrenKaren Hughes Hiya Naomi, Just read your recent entries, whilst it is snowing outside! I have been laughing at the cycle incident and carrying water!!! Hope you are going to demonstrate how to carry the water when you get back. Ha ha!! Teaching sounds very interesting and different. Keep up the good work. Off to make some cakes for Thinking Day celebrations. Have a great time and take care. Love Karen
re: First week in Malawi!Naomi Green Hello! Thanks, I'm having a brilliant time here! Wow Thailand sounds interesting. Haha yes I definitely agree there - This blogging is taking ages as the internet keeps cutting out every time I'm just about to post it! I've just managed to post a blog about teaching though so fell free to read that :)
re: First week in Malawi!Doug Neville Hi Naomi, Ellie gave me this address to have a look-see what you were up to. I was both excited and slightly jealous to hear you had gone out to Malawi! I had 6 weeks doing a similar-ish thing in Thailand before University and it was amazing. Your adventures sound fun and I'm looking forward to the next entry (but good grief they take ages to write, don't they?!). Keep blogging, and really enjoy every minute you get out there as the time will fly by, believe me!
re: First week in Malawi!Naomi Green Hello! Yvonne - Thank you, yes we're getting used to it and having a good time. I'm going to try to get in contat with your friend and see if we can visit her. Lynne - It's going well thank you, teaching is very difficult but we're getting used to it :) The standard of english is basic and so teaching english is hard, they tend to just repeat everything you say. I'm going to write another blog soon abut teaching. Yes a list of places to go would be brilliant, thanks! Uncle Cyril and Auntie Moya - Haha yes I'm sure sam would have scared off the snakes, I miss him! It sounds like theres been loads of snow, a bit different from here! Hope you're all well. Auntie Carol - Yes it's tiring but we get afternoons off to go back to sleep! Coping with the heat okay, got very sunburnt yesterday though as I forgot to put suncream on when we went out. Yes we've called her Ziggy 2 (Ziggy 1 went missing). Haha yes it sounds like they had a very entertaining trip! I want to see les mis! Also I've found a game here, a bit like mancala, which I think you'll like, will have to teach it you when I'm back!
re: First week in Malawi!Carol Riding Hi Naomi Hope everything still going well for you there ,it sounds like you're having to work very hard,I was saying to Brian he should have come with you to help teaching ,he would be good with the maths but he's not too good at English grammar. How are you coping with the heat ,and have you give your cat a name?Ive not been to see Les Mis yet but Lindsay has and loved it ,I'm sure your Mum will have told you of their experience on the night they went and their difficulty getting home cos of the snow !Good luck with your lessons . Lots of love Auntie Carol & Uncle Brian xxx
re: First week in Malawi!Uncle Cyril Just read your blog and it sounds like you are having a sooooper time.If you could have taken SAM with you he would have seen the snakes off. We have had loads of snow and the M6 at Wigan was closed for a few hours. We send loads of love and kisses.Auntie Moya Uncle Cyril & Ben.
re: First week in Malawi!Lynne Cattell Hiya Naomi, How is it going? What is the standard of English like and how old are the pupils? Looking forward to hearing about your teaching experiences. Been chatting to a lady at school today who is from Malawi. I mentioned to her that you will be going travelling and she is going to make a list of the places that she particularly likes. Have fun and keep up the good work. Love Lynne
