Today is a study day PRAISE THE LORD!!!! We haven't had a day with no planned activity since we left the states on June 1st. Final exams are tomorrow, but Geno and I have already prepared and printed our exams so now we are relaxing today. Of course the email and Internet are a hot mess because 400 students are not in class and they are all on the Internet but I guess you can't have it all.
Today we had a great lunch with Adrian, a student who is a theater major that wanted to pick our brains. Next we had a play date with Shannon and Liam. They are the two children of the Assistant Executive Dean. They are fantastic, polite, fun and theatrical and they asked their mom if they could do a parent swap with us for a day. Well we couldn't do a whole day but we did have a play date from 12:30-3pm. We made videos and played card games and had a snack at the snack bar. It was so fun and sweet. We love those kids. After that, Geno got a massage and I got some work done and we went to the art show, which was displaying the work of the Art Class. There were these amazing accordion journals. Each panel was a mixed media work from each of the ports we visited. I really wished you could have purchased them because they were so beautiful. What a wonderful way to remember this amazing trip. After the art show we did dinner and then came up to the Glazer Lounge to celebrate Dean David's birthday. There was a sweet birthday video by Professor Amber Johnson and lots of cake and dancing. It was a great day!
Today we woke up and went to breakfast and got to watch our ship go through a lock and into the Kiel Canal. We will be in this canal ALL DAY! We have about 8 hours with the most beautiful amazing scenery in this narrow canal. Everyone is out on the decks even though it is windy and cold. It is getting really sad to think this is going to be over soon. Are we going to be bored at home? Will we still be adventurous? Whew…re-entry is creeping up on us. Can you tell we are getting sentimental?
