Philly!!!!!!
Toooooo tired last night to write...WHAT a day!
We began our day driving from DC to Philly. The coach is so nice and it is LOVELY to rest my blisters, lol.
Arriving in Philidelphia at noon we set off to the reading Terminal market, and after about 20 minutes and choices galore, Caitlyn and I shared in a delicious fruit-filled crepe...Yummers!
Reading Terminal Market is an enclosed public market found at 12th and Arch Streets in downtown Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Over one hundred merchants[1] offer fresh produce, meats, fish, groceries, ice cream, flowers, baked goods, crafts, books, clothing, and specialty and ethnic foods. Every space in the market is rented out; three of the vendors are descendants of original market merchants. The market is open every day of the week (regular hours: M-Sat: 8am-6pm; Sun: 9am-5pm). The Pennsylvania Dutch merchants (a small but significant minority) generally do not operate Sunday through Tuesday.
We then moved on to Independence Square where we saw The Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and Ben Franklin's gravesite - Caitlyn tossed a coin for luck :)
Then the adventure began. We "Snuck Off" to The Mutter Museum.
The Mütter Museum is a medical museum located in the Center City area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It contains a collection of medical oddities, anatomical and pathological specimens, wax models, and antique medical equipment. The museum is part of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia. The original purpose of the collection, donated by Dr. Thomas Dent Mütter in 1858, was medical research and education.
This was definitely the highlight of the trip for Caitlyn so far...I enjoyed it, but found myself feeling "overwhelmed" and a bit faint one or two times. :/
We left the museum, and ate then hailed a cab back to our hotel. We were dropped off 10 city blocks west of our destination.,,,walked and hailed another cab, lol.
Back to the Hotel, snacks and bed!!!
