We were dropped off in Brisbane at the transit centre to find out the YHA, didn't do a pick up service, so it was a "5 min" hike up the hill with our huge backpacks, which actualy took about 20 mins. By the time we reached the hostel, we was sweating like mad! After we had recovered and showered, we headed off to check Brisbane out. Straight away you can tell you are back in the city with the constant sound of trains and huge roads and buildings in every direction. Brisbaine also has a river running around the cityand a big bridge with pretty surroundings, but it doesn't compare with Sydney, even though it's trying. There are lots of shops and yesterday, we came back with expensive hair extensions (but they are good and I can justify the money!).
Last night we went to the hostel next door where Keith and Logan are staying as they have a bar in thier hostel. Today we met up with Sarah, (who we met back in Byron) and walked around the whole city and visited the fake man made beach, which is really bizzare as it's plonked in the middle of a big city. After 2 hours walking, we found a british pub, which sold proper measures of beer, which seemed really welcoming so we stopped and had lunch there.
Brisbane is also home to loads of massive bats! I thought they was birds at first, but soon realised they actually had webbed wings and kept swooping right down!
Two days in Brisbane has being enough, as apart from see the city, shop and go to pub, there is not much else to do. Still worth a visit though!
We are heading to Moloolaba for a couple of days, so we will see how we go from there!
