Neil's Round the World Trip!
I sauntered around the Santa Fe bus station around 5.30am looking for a hotel in the seedy budget hotel area. I eventually found Hotel Zapeleta and checked in. I fell asleep and woke up at 1am.
I went for a walk around the city and couldn't understand why it was so deserted. However I realised Argentina play today and so everyone was in bars or their houses watching the game. I couldn't find a bar that had any space so I kept walking around the streets full of Argentina flags from every window, car, shop window etc. I eventually found a bar and watched the closing minutes, I was smothered in an Argentina flag and enjoyed watching the people celebrate at the end!
I was starving and so for my dinner I went to an LP recommended restaurant called Circulo Italiano. The attentive waiter asked if I wanted wine, I agreed and assumed it would be a glass but he opened a bottle. I had a whole bottle of red Norton wine just for me. I ordered steak which was delicious and for dessert noticed "Bonbon Escocés" on the menu. I was curious so I ordered it and found out it's like a macaroon bar with ice-cream and dulce de leche inside. It was really nice, I then staggered back to my hostel and went to sleep.
