Hey guys,
So it seems I have missed a week's worth of posts! Uh oh, and people have been bugging me to see if I am okay and up and alive and where is my next update. So first things first, an appology. For not updating and also for over reacting.
It had been a very long hard few days of being alone and surrounded by people that I didnt like after having such a great time on the train and it was very much a shock to the system. That evening after writing my blog I took myself off to the nearest thai massage parlour and got given a beating by a tiny little old lady and my god did i sleep well!
Bliss.
So the next day was a bit of a weird one again but I felt much better after the heavy handed treatment. I wandered around the city a bit more and found a few back streets to sit and chat with some english speaking thai's and took a long day to relax. it's been hot the last week. VERY hot. And humid for alot of the time, so much so that you cant breathe in the dense air sometimes. It's almost like being in a vaccuum. I wonder what it is like here in summer!
So i've been taking it easy in the hot weather, desperately trying not to move much to peel my tshirt from the back of my seat...bleurgh.
There is one good thing though, I met some great people, two girls who are med students and their friend the engineer from the land of OMAN who is on holiday. SHAAAAAHEEEEEEEN (Hannah), Lyzi and Paul. Pretty awesome people with a plan to be very british and drink the world under the table, Of course, they work hard so why not play hard on a 10 week work experience placement in Thailand's Hippy city?
Things are much better for sure. Went to the Muay Thai last night. for those who dont know, this is Thai boxing, international and local styleé. And my god it's incredible! 5 rounds of grimancing and wincing from flesh on flesh punches, kicks and broken bones.... saw a thai fighter get a full power kick to the knee and he dropped like a stone. I dont think that he will be fighting professionally for a few years, at least not until after extensive surgery.... Ouch.
The best part though? apart from the ring, the music, the room, the people and free alcohol? Erm... THE BLIND BOXING OF COURSE.
BEST. INVENTION. EVER.
Put any number of fighters into the ring from 4-15 (maximum you can fit into a ring) all aged between 15-40 and blind fold them. Then, to the delight of the crowd, blind fold every single one of them and put afuly sighted referee into the middle and ring the bell. THE BEST WESTERNERS ENTERTAINMENT IDEA ANYONE HAS COME UP WITH. Bets were flying everywhere, drinks being spilled and frantic calls of people claiming money on their double punch combo to floor the ref! Absolutely awesome! You can imagine the carnige with the ref being pinned against the ring side and many of them cheating and puilling off blindfolds. it was pure hysterical bliss for 7 and a hlaf minutes.
If there is one thing you need to do when you are in thailand, it's go see the boxing, Hilarious. Money well spent on an £8 ticket!
(and for those who want more for your money, the international fights are no more expensive and no less exciting) Holland vs Thailand was incredible with a straight win from the lean machine of Holland.
So now I promise to try and keep up to date with my blogs, another on the way very soon until I have finished catching up with myself. F7or now though, it's dinner time and i havent eaten much all day, today being the lazy day i picked for myself, i have slept pretty much all day and it's early evening now! Whoop.
Much to do and type, tappy tappy on the keyboard later.
Ciao for now my friends,
and sorry for the depressing last entry, things are better now I assure you.
xXx
