So the first entry into my blog. I've never done anything like this before so please bare with me for now until I get the hang of it. A friend gave my a leather journal to write in on my travels (when I don't have internet) and so I will be using both and uploading sections of the hand-written notes as I go (hopefully).
My flight to Singapore has not been without embarassments. The biggest blunder of all was plugging my headphones into the wrong armrest and spending a good hour trying everything I could to work out why I couldn't hear my telly! After dinner was served I was informed by one of the air stewards what I had been doing wrong. Other such calamities include using the disabled toilets unknowlingly and then when for the second time I needed to relieve myself, I waited outside the disabled becasue it was on use until another passenger went into the empty non-disabled toilet just behind me...
Anyway, apart from looking a little idiotic the flight was amazingly smooth and easy to enjoy. To shorten this down, I thought I might list my five favourite things about Singapore Airlines:
- The Air Hostesses - they are neat, tidy and very calm and collected
- The In-Flight entertainment - about 94 films on offer and a load of good TV shows, I was stuck for choice!
- The Food - I had Pad Thai for breakfast (well brunch) with fruit, muffin, juice, tea and raspberry yoghurt, not way was I going to be left hungry.
- The Sleeping Gear - actual decent blankets, not those thin sheet things you sometimes get and an actual small pillow!
- The Aircraft - the Airbus is huge, so with not quite enough passengers to fill it, many of us stretched ourselves across two or three seats to sleep...absolutley marvellous!
My connecting flight to Melbourne isn't until this evening so I have a few hours to kill in this awesome airport with its separate toilets and 'powder room'. I always have the bread roll and cheese I secreted in my napkin to keep me going and stave off the boredom if I feel peckish...
