Was too tired to write yesterday so will fill you in now. Yesterday we just wanted to chill and so tried to find a park but after failing miserably we wound up on the grass outside Hotel des Invalides where we had been the day before. Was a pretty nice location and was lovely just lying in the sun listening to music. Got about a million freckles and a little sunburnt but not too bad.
In the evening we met some fellow geordies at our hostel, Steph and Lee, which was pretty cool! There was a party at the hotel but some creepy guys were hitting on us and as we had to be up at 7 we wound up going to bed at like 12.30.
Today we caught the bus to Amsterdam which was like 9 hours long but not actually too bad a journey. We made a stop in Belgium which was really cool because we got to have a wander around and buy some chocolate even though we weren't actually staying there. Our hostel is pretty nice and we get to share a room this time. It turns out travelling is a lot more expensive than I had imagined and I am definitely going to need to start budgeting.

After writing last night Decca and I had a great time just in our hostel room. We were playing mini games on our Nintendo DS' and when our roommates came in we started to message each other via them and for some reason just got the giggles really badly. We started playing People Pictionary* and were literally in hysterics.
*People Pictionary is a game that Decca and I made up. You draw a picture of somebody you both know on your DS and send it to them and they have to guess who it is. Simple but somehow very funny.
Anyway, today is Liberation Day in the Netherlands and so there have been quite a few festivals in the city which have been fun to stumble across. We also went on another bike tour where we visited a cheese and clog factory and tasted the most delicious cheese I have ever eaten. This evening we went to Ann Frank's house. I have actually been here before but on a school trip about six years back. I reread her diary in preparation for the experience of coming again. It is a place which, perhaps unsurprisingly, provokes the strangest emotions within me. I actually felt close to tears whilst inside.
We got a bit lost on the way home tonight, for some reason the tram dropped us off in a different place to where we got on. We wandered completely aimlessly for a while but found a sports centre where a very helpful man gave us directions to our hostel. Turned out we were in a completely different area but have made it back safely now!
