Banff, Alberta
So how about that ride in?
Yesterday morning was not the best experience I have had at an airport...
We arrive into a scene of chaos at Manchester airport where we found our check in desk and were greeted by what only can be described as the love child of an umpa-lumpa and David Dickinson.
I got to the desk knowing full well I had over packed, luckily for me, we argued until we didn't have to pay a penny!
The flight was a standard affair, 9 hours of squeezing farts into the seat. Flying over the ice field of Iceland was a highlight.
After passing through immigration where time seemed to stand still... We collected our bags and went to the get our bus to Banff.
As we set off Calgary seemed a million miles away from the mountains, everything was flat (Jen thought we had landed in Kings Lynn), the outskirts were a sprawling suburb where every house was slightly different yet identical at the same time. After 20 minutes or so the foothills of the Rockies were in view. As we got closer they grew and grew, and all of a sudden the highway became engulfed by the mountains, tall green trees and glistening lakes.
After 40 minutes of travelling through this landscape we arrived in Banff...
