We all had a much-needed sleep in, especially Nick, and woke up to another beautiful day. Initially we had planned a week here to explore all the National Parks around us, as there are multiple walks and waterfalls to visit. However, nine months into our travels and we are all shattered so we decided on a very lazy day around the camp. We spent the morning doing some serious schoolwork, as it has been a while since the kids completed a full session. We took a couple of breaks and it was after one by the time we finished. We had lunch and then I went into town for supplies and came home with a couple of coffees. After a long relax in the sun I spent the afternoon cooking while Nick played soccer with the kids. We set an awesome fire and went off for a walk along the creek while it got going. Our walk was cut short by a sudden thunderstorm, which came out of nowhere. We ran home and had to hide inside as the rain was coming in on an angle and soaked everything under the awning. Luckily the fire survived so once the storm had passed we were able to sit around it for a little while until it got too dark. Katharine came outside complaining of a lump on her neck and when we had a look she had a large tick burrowing into her skin - she didn't take it too well! We managed to get it all out but she jumped in the shower straight away and scrubbed herself from head to toe - the cleanest she's been for a while!! We had a quiet night in front of the TV and once the kids were asleep Nick and I watched 'The Monuments Men" - very easy viewing.
