I had an absolutely shocking sleep as the poor dog either has a cold or terrible hay fever. She was up through the night sneezing constantly and green snot was flying everywhere!! It felt like we'd only just got back to sleep when we were woken by a loud microphone at 7am and then 70s disco music. It turned out to be a Miss Muddy day and women in exercise gear where pouring in by the dozen. I had a look online and it was scheduled for the entire day so we decided to skip school again and head back out for another picnic. We drove out to the Botanical Gardens and Black Mountain Tower to see views of Canberra from up high but the only good views were from the Telstra Tower and there was an entry fee! We drove past the Royal Australian Mint but didn't stop, as everyone was ready for lunch. Instead we found a picnic spot at Blue Gum Point and sat there for an hour or two while we ate. The boys made an amazing teepee-come-bonfire (depending on who you asked) and didn't want to leave it so to get them in the car they were promised another trip to Parliament House. This time I took all the kids inside and we had to walk through an xray machine. Annie went first but walked straight back through again not wanting to stand on her own at the other side. It took me a while to get her back through again but we were eventually cleared and had a good look through the building. We visited the Senate and the House of Representatives and the boys were impressed when they saw the room on the news later that night. We went up to the roof and waved down at Nick in the park with Tally. On the way out we visited the shop and the kids all got a souvenir coin. We drove home past some of the embassies again and spotted a vet near the campground. I popped in to see if they could see Tally as green snot was still oozing from her poor nose and it was starting to look bloodstained. A consult on a Sunday was $200 compared to $80 on a Monday so we arranged an appointment for the morning and decided to stay in Canberra an extra day. We had take away for dinner as everyone crashed by the time we got home and after a chat to mum and dad on facetime watched a bit of TV before bed. Unfortunately sleep was short lived as Tally's snotty nose had moved to her chest and she spent the night dry-retching and spitting out snot balls all over the van floor!!
