Today we hiked 13 miles on Laguna Torre trail. It was a full day hike with some breaks, including a nap for me by the lake. JN continued hiking to get a full view of the glacier. The day started out pretty cloudy, so we weren't sure if it was worth it to do the full hike. Fortunately, it cleared up by the time we made it to the lake, and the view was absolutely fantastic, worth the effort. Tonight, we're gonna have a nice dinner, tasting the local specialty, lamb...

What really surprised me about this place is how much Hebrew I'm seeing everywhere, including our bus to El Chalten. We saw Israeli people at Perito Moreno Glacier and our hostel. We also met an interesting Russian couple from Moscow region, who are traveling for a few weeks visiting National parks in Patagonia. The husband is an alpinist, and showed us his climbing videos, which were very impressive and funny. His friends are climbing Fitz Roy peaks right now. T...

Today we arrived at El Chalten, the center of mountaineering in Patagonia. We decided to do a 4 mile hike called Laguna Capri in the Los Glacieres. The hike was pretty flat with beautiful vistas, starting with a valley, and finished at Laguna Capri and beautiful views of Mount Fitz-Roy. Tomorrow, we're planning to do our first full day hike - Laguna Torre.
