Where are those Krafty Kansans
Well we are finally here!!!! Second day in dublin 10 am here 4 am in the US. we didn't end up getting out of KC until 6 on monday, sat on the runway for 3 hours on the plane!! then we finally go to chicago, had to book it to the gate ran on the plane, then sat on that runway for 2 more hours. There was real bad weather in Chicago and the shut down O'hare for about 2 hours. So total sitting time on the planes for us was about 15 hours. Pain in the ass, but we are finally here. Found our hostel with not too much trouble, I met up with Brian, its sooo good to see him, then we got our priorities straight, you know us, and headed towards the guiness brewery. Oh one funny part of our day was when we were checking into the hostel phil tried to repeat what the lady said to us in his obnoxious accent, and she called him out on it and said his impersenation was terrible!! HA! not even two hours into our trip and the locals are already telling phil to shut the hell up with that crazy accent! Plus she wasn't the only one yesterday that told phil that. About two hours later we were at a bar called the Brazen Head, the oldest pub in ireland opened in 1156. I asked the bartender to give us a little irish slang and she gave us "Pog Ma Hon" meaning kiss my ass. Phil proceeded to try and say it in his elementary accent and the lady said he sucked. HAHAHAHA oh i love it!!!
So fast forward about 4 beers later we finally find the guiness brewery and make our way through the tour. Very nice place and once you get to the top they have what they call "The Gravity Bar" which is a circular room made all out of glass, on top of the brewery, that overlooks all of dublin. Very beautiful! and the beer wasn't bad either.
Thats where we met Danny Colorado, as we call him, since he is from CO. nice guy think we will probably hang out with him again today.
I think we are going to try and get out into the countryside today and hopefully see some scenery like what we have pictured above. Its quite chilly here, should have brought warmer clothes i guess, but we are definately having a goooood time and are so happy that you all get to follow us on our journey.
Kind of mild stories today, but I am sure they will get more and more colorful as we go along, and phil tries to perfect his accent. HA!!!
love you all,
Maria and Company.
ps i guess none of us brought the cord that goes from the computer to the camera, so uploading pics might not happen until we are able to get that all figured out, hopefully sooner than later I know you are all missing our ugly mugs!!!
