Last day of the trip and the weather was gorgeous. We ate our usual French breakfast before packing up our rooms. We then loaded the bus with the cases and headed down for a last mooch around the shopping centre where the children spent the last of the euros that were burning a hole in their pockets. George the driver picked us up and took us back to Puistreham beach where we all made the most of the nice weather by playing on the beach or the mini golf course, bouncy castle or just having a spot of lunch. We then walked over to the Caen ferry port, which was packed due to everyone coming back from Le Mans 24 hours 2013. There were a lot of very nice cars boarding the ferry! On the ferry, there was quite a party atmosphere. Rhys was a star by joining in with the on-board entertainment and won the limbo and Gangnam style dancing competition. The girls amused themselves by pretending that Miss Salisbury was famous and screaming and taking her photo every time they saw her. They obviously did a good acting job as the shop staff gave Miss Salisbury a free gift of a little mirror (Dolce & Gabbana!), whilst chasing off us "fans" and not letting us into the shop!! The children enjoyed some entente cordiale by chatting to a group of French schoolchildren from Caen who were off to Edinburgh for a visit. The ferry docked at 10.20pm and we got back to Argoed at 4.00am. Thanks to all the parents for picking their children up so promptly - us teachers were certainly ready for our beds! All in all it was a fabulous trip where everyone had lots of fun and behaviour was impeccable. And now to plan next year's trip!
