Wayne's & Bonnie's Travels
Tomorrow we board the Royal Princess. We spent our day in Copenhagen exploring the city, again walking over 12 miles. We had a full breakfast at the hotel - their Danish pastries were too good. After breakfast we strolled along the waterfront and then headed to Tivoli, the in city amusement park that gave Disney the inspiration for his parks. We had planned to go there this evening but it rained us out. We then headed to a market to get some wine for the cruise and we went back to the hotel for a rest. We rested for a couple of hours and then went out for lunch/dinner. As I mentioned yesterday, it is very expensive here. We each had pizza and a beer - the bill came to about $50. We needed to walk it off, so we found the Round Tower. It is an astronomical observatory tower built in 1657. Most of the climb was a circular ramp, but we also climbed our share of steps. The views we worth it. We headed back to the hotel and just as promised it started to rain as we got there. We have had the chance to stay two or more nights in three wonderful cities so far on this trip. When we left we expected to enjoy Amsterdam the most followed by Copenhagen and Budapest. While we had a wonderful time in all three, to our surprise we enjoyed Budapest the most followed by Amsterdam and then Copenhagen. The people, the scenery, and the food in Budapest exceeded all our expectations. Amsterdam was young, vibrant, exciting and had it's own "unique" aspects. Copenhagen seemed more like any big city and was very expensive. So far we have had free unlimited internet. Starting tomorrow we will have free but slow and not unlimited internet on Princess, so the postings may become less frequent.
