New York Blog....
We have been busy busy busy......
Empire State - done
Rockefeller - done
Times Square - done
Hard Rock Cafe - done
Central Park - done
Statton Island - done
Museum of Natural History - done
Etc... Etc.... Etc.....
In two days we have managed to complete our list...... What shall we do tomorrow I wonder?!
Weather has been beautiful. Warm and sunny during the day and then nice sunsets over the city before pleasant evenings. Yesterday was absolutely crazy all day, we got so much done and walked ALOT!! Having been up for 24 hours (yes, Sarah was delightful by bed time) we slept like absolute logs....... Until 5am when both wide awake. Last night, Neil took on what is allegedly the hottest curry in America..... Still suffering :(
Today has been slightly slower paced (slightly). As we type we are in a lobster restaurant (to make Neil's dad jealous) in Times Square. Today we have been for a stroll through central park and then entered the Museum of Natural History which disappointingly was nothing like portrayed in Night at the Museum...... NONE of the exhibitions moved at all!!
We then experienced the Subway (soooo much cheaper than in London) to travel down to Katz's Diner where we tried one of their famous sandwiches...... Half each as a whole one would have been too much unless u are Michael!! As we left, we walked down to the financial district and en route the locals in Chinatown took a liking to Sarah and tried selling her anything they could think of.... Apparently we stand out as tourists with our super cool matching jumpers!!
This evening we have been on the ferry to Statten Island passing past the Statue of Liberty and seeing the Brooklyn Bridge and the city from the river. As it goes dark then the view is amazing. We then went to Ground Zero and the 9/11 memorial site which is stunning. We were hesitant on whether or not we wanted to go but Neil dragged Sarah in the end and glad we did. The memorial is beautiful and touching and the stories of sacrifice and courage are incredible.
We now fly to New Zealand in less than 24 hours.... Aaaaarrrrgggghhhhh!!
New York is so fast paced that New Zealand is going to seem so calm and tranquil.... We can't wait.
Love you all xxxx
