WOW Dubai was amazing!
Oz had managed to get the Hilton on staff rate for us and airport pick up so we didnt have to worry about getting for Sharjah to Dubai. We were picked up in the most gorgeous car-served drinks & cool face towels in the backseat-we were already loving Dubai :) It took about 90mins to get to the hotel-the traffic is awful. We were too early to check in but luckily they had a room ready for us with sea view so we were well please! we got lounge access with complimentary drinks/snacks and breakfast which was great. We went for lunch at the hotels beach cafe and wondered along the beach-the location was amazing.....miles of white sand and clear blue water and because of the time of year hardly any outher tourists! our hotel had its own private beach but nowhere was busy anyway. We spend most of our time relaxing by the hotel pool and in the gardens with freshly squeezed pineapple juice...mmmm the hotel staff provide you with towels etc and they even walk around with a cool box filled with ice cold face towels to cool you off-lush! The sea was so hot so you couldnt really cool down is you were at the beach and there was a jelly fish warning so we only went a couple of times...the temperture was about 50 everyday-we thought we would be ok as we are used to that kind of heat in Turkey but it was completely different-even my nail polish melted off onto my bikini! oh and both our ipods stopped working in the heat!
Oz was really keen to go on a desert safari so we booked one for the following day-they pick you up at 4pm from your hotel to avoid the mid-day heat, we had a south-african family on ours who live in Dubai-they were really nice and fun to be around..you go dune bashing for about 45 mins-scary!! i thought we were going to turn over too many times :) -they stop to let you take pics so we got off and this guy from another jeep (theres 20 jeeps go together in a convoy) asked if we could take a pic of him & his wife and he woud take ours..we never give our camera to anyone but as we were in the middle of the arabian desert we thought it was pretty safe as where could he run? so what did he do-he dropped it RIGHT in the sand!!!!! ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH couldnt believe it we were so mad! he picked it up and said no problem and starting blowing more sand into it!! I started crying :) Oz still took their picture for them (too nice as always) the people we were with offered there camera to us as they had two and took pics of us and emailed them to us hence why we have pics...at camp you get to dress up, smoke pipes, get henna paiting etc..its a BBQ buffet you can eat as much as you can-it was really delish! oh and they even had modern loos in camp-very impressed! Overall the safari was a great expereince and lots fun a must do when visiting Dubai!
If your still awake after reading this take a peek at our pics

Ming I love how you obscured the view in this image to cearte such a unique vertical line of focus! It really amplifies the rich details in the subject line. Absolutely love the racing tail lights on the other side of the street! You continue to to capture the night time shots with a precision to be envied by most!
