Day one Charleston started with breakfast on the fourth floor roof terrace of the Andrew Pinckney Inn and a Skype call to the UK. I think I made a new flavour combination. By mistake I put cream cheese on my biscuit (scone) instead of butter, followed by fruit jelly on top. It reminded me of a cream tea, just less rich. I enjoyed my leisurely start this morning. For me it's a day dedicated to chilling out ahead of my only internal flight. I repacked to reduce my bags down to one check-in and one carry-on. I check-out of the hotel at 2pm and took the shuttle bus to Terminal B at around 3pm. I paid $25 for the checked bag and then was able to head airside. After hanging out with Phil and Jenny this morning, Jenny dropped me at Plano Downtown. It gave me a chance to explore the boutique-type shops and cafés. It's my kind of village. I haven't bought many items on my trip. Having to carry everything for two months makes one somewhat selective. I couldn't resist a beautiful pearl and crystal necklace. After checking 'me' out of the hotel, and checking 'my bags' into left luggage, I've ventured out into Dallas. I use 'out' in the loosest terms, in that I didn't even have to step outside! I'm waking up in a cold icy Dallas, once again in a room with a view. This time over looking other sky scrapers in the financial district here downtown. I can see the Deloitte, Chase and Marriott buildings. I'm on the 16th floor, having taken the elevators in the North section of the hotel, fourth tower. It's a big hotel!
