okay! hello again from spain. it's been crazy! so the first day we arrived around 4pm and got unpacked and comfy. we met the rest of the people in our group, got on the train, and went to las ramblas to get some paella, which is a traditional spanish meal w rice and seafood. we had a few mojitos and caipirinhas, which are delicious here. we walked down the beach for hours and met a bunch of new friends from a million different places (britain, austria, s. america). on the beach there's a club scene that would make 6th street blush. the bars never close and are the rowdiest places i've ever seen. the girls get dressed to the nines and are gorgeous and tall. the guys are all short and have jersey shore hair. c'est la vie. stephanie and i ordered whiskey and cokes. here that means they pour whiskey until you say when and hand you a coke bottle. around 7am we headed back to the train and decided to go swimming (fell asleep w half my bathing suit on). the next day all we did was sleep the whole day through to try and make up for jet lag/partying. yesterday we went to class and it was caesar's birthday!!! it was also my sis paige's 21st bday! so after class we went to the walmart of spain and got our groceries and a bday cake. we got dressed up cute to look as good as the boys, pregamed, then met up w the group to head back to the city. we went to dinner at a fancy place where they made bday mojitos w like a liter of rum in them. steph and i stuck w whiskey cokes, and got our first european double cheek kisses. we ended up at a bar above an ice cream parlour where we proceded to get rowdy. steph and ian took it to another level though. we left somewhat early and ian puked at the bus stop. caesar, parisa, and i babysat the drunkies all the way back home. class today was painful, but tomorrow we only have class til 1 then a 4-day weekend, so we're going to the beach!! the weather is perfect here and we walk and bus and take the train everywhere. i love it and i'm never leaving! i do miss my friends and my bike and leia though. we haven't seen many touristy places yet, but will have time this weekend. more to come. buenas noches!
