Hi guys..... hope everyone is fine and dandy???!!!!!
So... we have been here in langkawi for a few days and have a much better liking for the place now than the last time we wrote, we have been busy busy, snorkling, island hopping and general things like finding our bearings. Even though our hotel is a mission from everything we have like the best room - balcony, stone floor, lovely view etc... so that is a major plus :) we cant rememeber if we mentioned it last time we wrote?! but it is really nice!!
After we updated this blog last time, we found a shopping centre alot closer to our hotel with restuarants etc... we also found a tourist information centre so we went in and had a mooch at the leaflets etc... this is where we saw snorkling and island hopping, we arranged snorkling for the sunday and island hopping for the monday. On saturday we made the 30minute journey to Pantai Cenang (this is the tourist part of the island and has the nicest beach etc) this was quite fun - played in the sea etc... usual beach fun time!
Snorkling was quite an experience... we got a boat to Pulau Payar Marine Park which took us an hour south of Langkawi - this 'marine park' was just a kind of floating thing which didnt make either of us feel to good - the sea was beautiful - different colour blues and the colourful fish were amazing. however... both of us threw up unfortunatly, due to the constant rocking of the 'marine park' :( when we were in the sea it was amazing we were able to swim to the beach while looking at the coral and fishys. we couldnt believe just how many fish were there, hundreds all around us! Morgan spotted nemo - but it dissapeared - no time for photo :( we were there for 5 hours so we had plenty of snorking fun - you could call us pros now ha ha but you can imagine the time on the platform wasnt to fun!! rocking back and forth, back and forth - this was no little rock either - it was so wavey that you couldnt walk in a straight line to get to the loo etc... made us feel yukky!! The photos have been cut gay buy the developer so thats why they have black lines down them!
Island hopping yesterday was our next adventure the islands we actually visited were Pulau Dayang Bunting and P. Beras Basah and we took a boat threw many of the others - it was amazing - the views were incredible. we were a bit worried at first because of how we felt on the snorkling trip but it was totally fine :) The boat was crazy, quite small and fitted 10 people. Our first stop was Pulau Dayang Bunting where there was a fresh water lake - we had an hour here, morgan hopped straight in and SJ sat by the side dangling her feet in - it was really nice and calm - its crazy how within all these islands and the seas salt water that there is a large fresh water lake - on this island there were signs everywhere saying 'no plastic bags - beware of monkey attacks' there were loads of them - quite funny they would follow you etc... and we saw one eating a bag of snacks ha ha! On our way to the next island we stopped in this kind of water cul-de-sack for a while (sorry guys we dont know any other way of explaining it) Here there must have been about 60 huge eagles diving into the water for food - it was crazy when we saw them catch something (eagles are like a major thing on this island) After this we headed to P. Peras Basah - another beautiful place the sand was so white and the water was a lovely colour all different colour blues - both of us hopped straight in!!
One of the evenings we went out for a meal and morgan wanted to try lobster so we ordered one - Morgan loved it, SJ did try it but still not a fan of seafood! ha ha!
Today the weather is so GAY and there were big storms last night so we lounged about this morning and came to upload our photos, we are off to Kuala Lumper tomorrow - the next stop in our adventure :) we are excited to see a different side to Malaysia!!
We miss everyone and hope every one is good!!!
