Just to give you a quick overview on what we have planned; we are visiting Deli, Mumbai, Goa and then spending two weeks cycling around the Western Ghats and Kerala in Southern India. We will have a little rest time after that before we head over to Sri Lanka for 2 months where we find ourselves working in the Pinawala elephant orphanage and then teaching English in a remote village in …

Just to give you a quick overview on what we have planned; we are visiting Deli, Mumbai, Goa and then spending two weeks cycling around the Western Ghats and Kerala in Southern India. We will have a little rest time after that before we head over to Sri Lanka for 2 months where we find ourselves working in the Pinawala elephant orphanage and then teaching English in a remote village in the Wasgamuwa National Park.
We will try our best to keep you all updated as we go and if we can get plenty of pictures and maybe the odd video up on here we will. Be great if you could leave us some messages just so we know you haven't forgotten us!

After much practise I am pleased your Animal naming skills are on the up, but with only Pusscat for a cat and Shaun for a sheep there was not much to beat. I thought eric elephant was very inventive, my money was on Dumbo LOL

Great to hear from you and get an idea of your experiences in Thailand. Sounds like the extra cost to change locations was money well spent. Can't wait to see the pics. Looks like packing is going to be a challenge if you spend all of the £40 in Bangkok. You might look a bit odd sat on the plane with your cycle hats on!!! See you soon

My dear friend Pierre of course taxi is ready for you. I spoke to Briana and she told me that you were after some slap and tickle but after only one minutes it was more slap than tickle. Plane ready at isolated runway but due to oil drum price we need 4000 euro up front or elso no trip. My second cousin twice removed still has ferry option available if price too high.

Update from Mike and Em from the Surin elephant project. Internet coverage where they are is not too clever so here is the latest news via text. They are staying in a house on stilts with a Mahout (elephant trainer) and his family. The reason for the stilts is that the elephants live beneath the house. Cosy!! They have been bathing with the elephants, hoeing weeds and cutting sugar cane in 40 degree heat. Hard work but apparently great fun. They have booked a trip to Ko Samet (island of mainland) for a little r & r. The weekend after that they are going to Chiang Mai. Tonight is BBQ night with the Mahouts.

Little runway outside Cognac. Very hush hush. Don't tell those taxi men from St Palais or French policemen. Do you need bicyle. I also have good contact with bike rep called Will. I know Briana. Large adams apple!!!!!!! Tell him (sorry her) i am available.

Your teaching experience sounded amazing and very rewarding for all. They will have benefitted from your (Em & Mike style) teaching, but you will have come away from them having learnt a great deal too - about them, their culture, and about yourselves aswell. Great update both of you, I hope someone is replacing you at the school to correct Mikes teacher training. Poor guy I expect he is very confused. Just got your text about Thailand, I didn't realise you were living with the local people and their elephant slepted under the house, but I suppose Em you have a place to put MIke if he plays up. Have a great time an keep us up to date.

Glad to hear you arrived safe and sound in Thailand. Had a brief look on the Surin web page. Looks like you are going to be busy. Hows your building skills??? Just printed of the blog for the Lover and Cheltenham followers. Brilliant read. Really glad to managed to check out the elephants. Glad to hear that all those visits to Alderbury were not a total waste of time. I did however think thsat you were being taught English not bulls***!!! Have a great time and hope the transfer's not too bumpy.
