The drive from Bishop to Yosemite was an interesting one. The change in landscape was quite drastic. From the dry death valley to the green mountainous Yosemite.
Arriving in Yosemite just in time to stop for lunch (despite bear warnings!) we have an impromptu picnic whilst we suss out what to do on our way to our home for the next two nights.
First stop was a beach where we lay in the sun and fall asleep! Probably not the best way to make the most out of being in such a beautiful place but we appreciated the sun on our faces and the sand under our feet.
We get on our way to find Curry Village. We arrive, have our bear safety talk, check in and settle into our tent/cabin. We have what is known as a bear box, where we have to put everything that has any form of scent to make sure the bears are not attracted to our tent. I think we would have been happier in the bear box and leaving the scented products in the tent but we would not all fit so the tent it was!
We explore the camp and have dinner whilst planning what to do tomorrow.
Having survived the night with no bear attacks we ventured out into the beauty that surrounded us. Trails, Beaches, wildlife, and so much more!
We were all pretty psyched for the stargazing walk we had booked on to for that evening. Heading up to Glacier Point for sunset (but only catching it on the drive up there) we arrived at the amphitheatre as darkness settled upon us and the stars started to sparkle. We were guided through the constellations and stories behind them. It was pretty awesome stargazing. Having chilled out under the stars we head back to 'home' and get ready for our departure the next morning.
Blinky and I wake up and decide to make the most of the scenery and go for a run before we set off in Digger for our final leg of our mini road trip to San Francisco.
