Digger made it to San Francisco even with me driving into the city!!
We check into our standard backpacking accommodation at the Hilton! Haha we were somewhat out of place rocking up with our backpacks and our grotty selves having been back to basics for the past 2 days but hey we deserved it right?!
A latish arrival meant a short introduction to the area. We grabbed dinner and chilled out.
Being in a city we decided to do the tourist thing and sightsee. Visiting Chinatown, Little Italy, Fisherman's Wharf amongst other places.
The hills tested us for sure on our wanderings of the city.
Down at fisherman's wharf we saw Alcatraz (the closest we were going to get as we were super disorganised and did not book tickets far enough in advance) we also made a visit to the sea lions of the wharf.
The Japanese tea garden was a really nice place to visit first thing in the morning. Having had our tea and found our Zen we made our way round the gardens. We then headed back out into the park, having been cultured and sensible for at least an hour we resorted back to being totally ridiculous.
We had decided the afternoon would be the time to bike over the Golden Gate Bridge. We hired bikes and set off, luckily in the right direction, unfortunately in exactly the same direction as everyone else! We stuck together through the crowds and up the hills. The bridge is HUGE!! Actually so much fun. The best way to cross it in my opinion. It was cloudy but it did not dampen our spirits.
We rode the tram as you have to when in San Fran and visited Lombard Street to tick off the final tourist things on our list.
Our final day in in San Fran was filled with sun, cocktails, beer and food at San Francisco's street food market. It was a really lovely day and a good way to finish up in a pretty cool city.
