Ok so I haven't blogged in a while…. And I feel as though its time too.
So Amsterdam…. I really didn't do much, I had my Bobs Youth Hostel disaster and found a new hostel then to book out 2 days later to stay with Yake. I enjoyed spending time with him and getting to know him in person, we have spent 6 months talking online and although we were nervous to meet when we did (well I felt don't know about him) like he was an old friend…. Not some one I was meeting for the first time. We hung out and didn't do much touristy stuff but saw Amsterdam Winter land and went ice skating where cocky me got shot down in flames. I assuming that skating was skating thought I would be awesome and be able to show off to Yake, much to my surprise while Yake with ease hit the ice and was shaky and nervous, it was a lot more slippery that I first assumed, but after a while of getting used to it (like putting on a different pair of skates) I was almost doing cross overs again.
I also started skating with the Amsterdam Derby Dames, once I get my visa I will join their league and so will Yake, He once again surprised me when he put on roller skates and although a bit shaky was strong and confident skater, once he practices a bit he will be a kick arse skater!!! The girls at the league are awesome as although I am having trouble with names… faces im good with, names not so much…They told me about the Championship in Berlin so hopefully I will get to that!!!
Yakes family is Turkish and I even went with him to a Turkish wedding, the biggest most spectacular wedding I have ever seen, I had a go at Turkish Dancing too at the wedding and felt quite awkward. Apparently I did well but I don't believe it.
