We had a nice morning then left roughly 11.45am to head to Bucharest Airport. The owner of the guesthouse, his father in law drove us the 2.5hrs there, otherwise we would have had to of caught a bus/taxi to Brasov, then the train to Bucharest then another taxi to the airport. That would have been a bit much with Bek's ankle being sore and swollen. We landed in Istanbul after a comfortable flight, however it was delayed an hour (we sat on the plane for this time, unsure what was happening). We got off the plane and had to buy another visa as the one we had got off the internet, we requested entry from the 6th. But as we decided to head to Turkey early, it was no longer valid. Dammit. We then reached the immigration line. WOW! The craziest line we have ever seen (some would say it wasn't really a line). No security or police to keep it in order, so many people pushed in which made those waiting patiently, suddenly become quite frustrated. When they finally decided to open up more counters (I think all the Turkish people had entered in the country already!), it seemed to flow a lot better. It took around an hour and really sped up towards the end. We then took a bus to the centre of town and then a short taxi ride to our accommodation. Bek got stuck sitting next to a local guy, it took a while for him to realize that she was not really interested in chatting. The city was just so busy, even late at night! So many people, so much noise. And it was a big city! Luckily we stayed very central to most attractions. Upon arrival, we had a cup of tea and some cake. A long day of travel, it was amazing how long it took to get from A to B. We were hoping to sleep well despite the heat.
