Our train arrived in Prague at 6.30am! Lucky we were able to drop our bags off to the apartment but weren't able to check in till 1pm. We grabbed a map and tried to plan how to fill in those hours - we did this in a lovely bread shop where it was nice and warm as Prague was quite cold! Prague was gorgeous - especially the Old Town! We decided on a 11am walking tour run by an Australian guy - very funny, great tour which met by the astronomical clock built in 1410, only 1 of 3 in the world. Afterwards we headed back to the apartment for a much needed shower and out again for some lunch of goulash and fried cheese (yum!). This place also had tank beer which is a speciality. We ended the night at the Prague Beer Museum where they have 30 beers on tap - we were able to try 7 of then. A table of 3 Korean males did a tester (still decent size) of all 30 beers and they finished! Very popular place for obvious reasons! We found arriving in Prague at 6.30am, it was astonishing how much people still out drinking or trying to stumble home. At the bake shop, a man and woman were onto their 2nd bottle of champagne. A bit of 'the hair of the dog' but also just a different culture where drinking is incorporated into all meals, regardless of the time! That's why they say people come to Prague to drink! Back to the apartment for bed, needless to say we were exhausted - not much sleep on the train!
