Monica's Europe Trip
I have arrived in Dublin! I got in this morning shortly after 9:00. I sat next to this guy on the plane and we got to know each other. His name is Marek and he is from the Czech Republic. He was on his way home to Prague and had a layover in Dublin. So, he came and hung out with me in Dublin for a few hours. We walked around the Temple Bar area and had a beer in the Temple Bar pub. We also went to Dublin Castle. He was such a great guy. I just said goodbye to him so now I am off to the Guinness Storehouse. Then tonight I'll go on a pub crawl. Dublin is such a great city. It's so full of character. There are lots of old buildings. The people have been so nice so far too. I love the accent. I just checked into my hostel and it seems pretty decent. It's in a perfect location. It's right on the River Liffey.
I was so impressed with Aerlingus. The seats were cramped of course, but they were comfortable. And the flight attendants were nicer and more helpful than any I've ever seen. They also showed movies. They had The Pink Panther on, but I only watched part of it. I slept through most of it. I have never been fed so well on a flight. First, they gave us a drink and some pretzels. I thought that was going to be it. But a few hours later they served us a real dinner. We had a choice between chicken or beef and I chose the beef. It was very tender and had some pasta underneath and vegetables on the side. There was also a salad, cheese and crackers, cheesecake, and an Andes mint. It was all pretty good. Then they gave us breakfast consisting of ham and cheese on a croissant and some orange juice. I drank the orange juice, but had no interest in the sandwich since I had just eaten so much a few hours before.
So like I said, I'm off to the Guinness Brewery now!
