Hello from Kaikoura (meaning 'crayfish food')
We are here for an afternoon only while some of the group go swimming with dolphins or whale watching, but as that's not my thing I'm checking emails and browsing the shops.
Since Rotorua (where 5 of us won the pub quiz and then we went to a bar called the Holy Cow where you dance on the tables), we've been to Taupo, Wellington and have now crossed to the South Island.
The ferry crossing was a lot better than I thought. I was told that the waves were crashing against the windows at one point, but I slept through all that. I did go up on deck at one point and nearly got blown away!
The south island is a lot more mountainous and scenic. Yesterday, went hiking in Abel Tasman National Park and the scenery was magnificent - very paradise like. I don't have my camera cable with me at the moment but next time I'll upload some more photos.
Onto Christchurch this afternoon before a very long drive tomorrow across the south island to Fox Glacier.
That's all from here.

PS - I had the excitement of eating pizza (without cheese obviously) out of a takeaway box the other night when I had my own cheese free pizza ordered for me.
