Hello again from New South Wales,
We're back in NSW after having crossed the border from Queensland earlier this morning and am now at the eastern most point of Australia - see photos.
After my delightful stay at the farm where we could feed horses and milk cows (not that I did any of that), I have been on Moreton Island. Moreton Island is a sand island and my main memories of the place will be the sand and how it got absolutely everywhere. I found it in my ears, knickers and under my nails. I went sandboarding which largely involved lying face down on a biggish piece of what looked like chipboard and sliding down a sand dune. It was good fun. We also went swimming in the Blue Lagoon.
For the past couple of days I've been on the Gold Coast near to Surfer's Paradise where the Indy Grand Prix is taking place this weekend. I went to Movieworld yesterday and then out for a dinner and to a show at Draculas. It was a very bizarre place with everyone dressed up as ghosts, goths etc and we had to get in a ghost train to get to our table to eat. The show of comedy, singing and dancing was very good.
After Draculas we went for a few drinks in Surfer's Paradise and I now have a very funky hat - see photo (thank you to Neil for buying two XXXX Gold beers and Kerry for her drink so that I could have it).
Wwe're off to Coffs Harbour this afternoon and then heading for Sydney on Monday. It'll be the end of the tour as well. Time does seem to have flown by and America seems like ages ago.
I'm looking forward to seeing my dad who is flying in on tuesday and it also means that I'll have some more luggage room for all my stuff including my hat!!!!
Monica
